HAWAII!!!!!

ALOHA!  We took a Colwell family trip to Maui in early July to celebrate Grandma and Grandpa's 35th wedding anniversary!  (with us was Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt Andrea, Uncle Trevor, Uncle Jordan, Aunt Tiann, Great Aunt Lisa, and Great Uncle Kent!)  We had an absolute blast!  There are a zillion pics, so I'm just going to jump in...
Modeling her new beach hat from Aunt Andrea and Uncle Trevor the night before we left!
Our resort grounds.  We stayed at the Kaanapali Alii right on Kaanapali beach in Maui...it was amazing!

Our view from one of the rooms!  The resort was all condos with kitchens, living rooms, etc.  When we got there we found out that we were upgraded in one of the rooms, and got an extra bedroom, so all 5 couples had their own bedrooms, which was perfect!
View of Lanai from our beach
Dada and Kins taking a stroll on the beach
Kins splashing in the water with Mama...she loved it!
Sisters in law!
Dada, Aunt Tiann, Uncle Trevor, Aunt Andrea and Grandpa all took a surf lesson while we were there!  Here they are all ready to go!
Every single one of them got up during the lesson...they did amazing!  I think Aunt Tiann was probably the stand-out in the group though..she got up the first time and pretty much every trip after that!  :)
Kins chillin in the hotel room
Cheese!
We celebrated the 4th of July while in Hawaii, and Kins got all decked out!
With Grandma ready to see some fireworks!
Our fam on the 4th
The girls!  (minus Aunt Tiann)
The sunset before the fireworks
Mama and Aunt Lisa watching fireworks...we ended up just walking a couple of resorts down the beach and found a spot on the ocean to sit and watch them...it worked out just great!
We divided up into 2 groups and did the Road to Hana while there (Kinsley skipped this activity as she prefers lounging at the pool to spending the whole day in the car!)  :)  Here is a shot from the road.
Lookout from one of our first stops
We took a mini hike along the way and saw some eucalyptus trees...can't really tell, but they have rainbow colored bark!
The girls and the eucalyptus trees
Another pretty ocean view along the road
On a black sand beach...pretty cool!
Cave at the black sand beach
We took another little hike down to the waterfalls at the Oheo Gulch, about 45 mins past Hana.  They were definitely a highlight of the trip!
If you look closely you can see Aunt Tiann, Dada, and Uncle Trevor on the top right...they climbed up to the 2nd pool and took a swim!
Sea-level
We decided to continue around the island rather than turn around at Hana...the other side was so different from the first part of the trip!  Desert and dry rolling hills and windmills!
While Mama and Dada were on the road to Hana, Kins was happy at the pool with Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt Lisa and Uncle Kent!
My little hula girl, courtesy of Grandma and Aunt Lisa!  As you can tell, she wasn't the biggest fan of this look!  :)
Eating some frozen yogurt!
Kinsley's favorite part of Hawaii??  Washing her feet in the showers off of the beach!  She was obsessed!  :)
Ready for a swim!  Her #2 favorite thing in Hawaii...the resort pools!
Such a big girl!
Splashing with Grandma!
Showing off her swimming skills
The banyan tree in Lahaina...it takes up a whole city block!
At the Old Lahaina Luau
With Mama at the Luau
And with Dada...
...love these 2 Dada pics!
Grandma! (or Gam-Gam as Kinsley calls her)
The fam at the luau
The show was really amazing...lots of tradition and history and awesome dancing!
The girls at the luau
Grandma and Grandpa at the head of the table
The whole group!  We chose "traditional" seating where we sat on the ground in the front row for the show!
Kinsley met a friend there named Maya....they had a blast running and dancing together, and then Maya planted a big old kiss on Kinsley when they were done!  :)  (PS Kinsley still talks about Maya months later)
Sunset at the luau
More dancing
Kinsley loved the dancing!  Every time a dance would end, she'd just keep saying "more, more" until the next one started!  :)
Our whole group after the luau...a favorite night for sure!
Dinner at Kimo's on the water in Lahaina
Most of the group (except for Kinsley, Mama, Aunt Lisa and Uncle Kent) did a day trip to Oahu while we were there.  They spent most of the day at Pearl Harbor and had a great experience...here are some pics of their time there...

The oil that still bubbles up from the USS Arizona

Waikiki Beach
While the others were in Oahu, the rest of us had some beach time!  First at our beach in Kaanapali, and then we drove up to DT Fleming beach in Kapalua.  This beach was a bit calmer than ours in Kaanapali, so Kinsley was able to venture out a little more!
Splashing with Mama!
Swim, swim!
Our little munchkin's footprint!  What an amazing trip!!!  We will see you again someday Hawaii!!!
